Here's what it's all about ??Here's what your generostiy allowed to happend this past Dec 7, 2007: We provided a terrific "thank you" lunch sponsored by Tatum LLC: consisting of Olive Garden yummies (how could we go wrong) for the Dr's and nurses of the CVICU to say thanks for the job they do day in and day out to help numersous kids and families coping with heart disease (just think how seldom it is they get ANY appreciation for the amazing work they do)!! We presented our annual check for $10,000 to support Dr Towbin's reserach into the causes and cures for pediatric cardiomyopathy (Our good friend Dr. Friedman was also their to show his gratitude). We're still amazed these are world reknowned Dr's right here in our front yards. We presented a $2,500 check also to Dr. Towbin as a Board Member of the Perhaps one of the most touching experiences for us was my old friend Todd Skaggs' donation of 8 Tickle-me-elmos (the really cool TMX ones) to the kids of the CVICU. One especially drew our attention as he shared Todd's the last name ... AND his home state of Oklahoma ... little Jhett Skaggs was the first recipient of an Elmo. Jhett had just received a new heart a couple of weeks prior to our visit and was doing great. Finally, while there's no picture to show, we committed to providing the funding to cover ALL the travel expenses for Camp Pump it Up on an annual basis. Essentially we're going to set aside enough money to insure this cost is covered for as long as TCH supports Camp Pump it Up!!! |
