 was a terrific evening of mingling, introducing the Foundation to new faces, and inspiring our runners to make this years event a terrific success.  Thanks very much to all who showed the support and made early contributions for our runners.

What would have been Vanessa’s 2nd birthday will be a very tough anniversary for our family, but it will also be a celebration for the Foundation, we’ll highlight the day with the Dr’s & nurses of TX Children's Pediatric Cardiology ICU.

 

We’ll be providing lunch as a special Thank You for the amazing job they do helping very troubled kids

 

A $10,000 check will be provided to support genetic research into the causes and cures for pediatric cardiomyopathy

 

We’ll write a $2,500 check to present to the Children's’ Cardiomyopathy Foundation to support their mission of research and family support.

May 21, 2006           

Our first ever Big Heart Home-Run Derby was held at Klein-Collins High School.  The event resulted in more than $6,000 being raised to support the Foundation.  It was lots of         food, fun and a great time watching 14 of the areas best home-run hitters slug it out, with the first place trophy going to Austin Dicharry of Klein Collins and a tying event record 9 home runs in a single at bat by Adam Toler of Pasadena Memorial, and Aaron Schultz of Klein Collins. 

 

 

An added bonus was that the left over food and drinks were donated to the Houston Ronald McDonald House just in time to help out those families with a Memorial Day meal.

Feb 2006       

Mountain Valley School in Canyon Lake , TX remembers baby Vanessa during their ‘JUMP ROPE FOR HEART’ fundraiser. 

 

What an incredible gesture, and what an incredible job

 the kids did raising $4,700 to support the American

Heart Association.

Our baby girl, Vanessa Katherine lost her battle for life from a heart condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM). 

 

July 2005      

Vanessa’s story was added to The Chad Foundation website.

 

Aug. 15, 2005          

Ron (Vanessa’s Dad) announced he’d run the Houston Marathon      if enough people would make a per mile pledge to make a difference ...12 hours later … more than $100/mile was pledged and the event was scheduled.  Click HERE to see all the news coverage received for this event.

 

Aug. 31, 2005                       

Vanessa’s Big Heart Foundation was established by parents Ron & Janie Dale.
