May 20, 2008 - VBHF awarded Top Fundraiser Award by Houston                         Marathon Committee at Run For A Reason luncheon -                         ranked 5th among 35 Official Charities.

Apr 13, 2008 - Camp Pump it Up w/more than 150 kids participating                        this year was the biggest yet. (pictures coming soon)

Mar 1, 2008 - Latte Tots fashion show w/ Christine Meeker photography                       (more than $2,000 raised for VBHF)

Feb 23, 2008 - Post Marathon Celebration sponsored by Tatum, LLC and                       Gremillion's Fine Art Gallery

Feb 9, 2008 - Lake Jackson Intermediate honors VBHF through
                     LJIdol talent competition
                     (raising $1,000 for Little Kids w/Big Hearts)

Feb 2006 -         Mountain Valley School in Canyon Lake , TX   Jump rope for  hearts.The kids jumped for pledges and raised $4,500 for the American Heart Association.   (A special thanks to Chrissy Trevino - Janie's college roommate for creating the inspriation for this event)

Jan. 27, 2006 - Vanessa’s Foundation and our bible study group from Fellowship of the woodlands provides Brunch for the Ronald McDonald House of Houston

Jan. 15, 2006 - Ron ran the first of what would become several marathon fundraisers obtaining more than $18,000 to get the Foundation off the ground.

2005 Events and other Significant Dates:

Nov 2005 -           Vanessa’s story was published in the CCF Newsletter  

Aug. 31, 2005 - Vanessa’s Big Heart Foundation was established

Aug. 15, 2005 - Ron (Vanessa’s Dad) announced he’d run the Houston Marathon if enough people would make a per mile pledge to make a difference ...12 hours later … more than $100/mile was pledged and the event was scheduled.  Here's a link to all the terrific NEWS COVERAGE received for this event.

July 2005 -        Vanessa’s story was added to The Chad Foundation website.

April 7, 2005 - Our baby girl, Vanessa Katherine lost her battle for life to a heart                               condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM).
